Hi guys,
I have followed the instructions in the pdf of documentation section about installation.
Just installed Kahel OS Desktop in VirtualBox 3.0.8.
Everything gone well but when I reboot I am asked to prompt user name and password at login to enter the system.
I'm not allowed to enter both as an administrator and as a user.
I have tried to install many times changing root and user names and passwords during installation without success.
Also tried to leave all blank (I mean without changing anything) during installation without success again.
Please help me to have a chance other than Ubuntu and Win****.
Thanks in advance.

i dont really know what could have happened to allow this problem to occur.
But a probable fix would be to enter either single user mode or try loging in without gdm
This can be easily configured via /etc/inittab
Either via a live cd or nano..or your prefered text editorIf the installer has been given error at the part of creating accounts ,
logging in at gdm wouldnt help , niether would running at runlevel 3A way to do this is to edit the kernels boot perimiters by adding ro 3 for runlevel 3 or ro 1 for run level 1 .
run level 1 would provide you root access ...so be very careful on what you doonce you get to root account,
to change the password ,
type in the name of account you wanna change followed by a space and than passwd*name* passwd
and change the password to your will
next , to end this , type in shutdown -h 0
this will shutdown the system ...and just on your vm again to see the effectsPosted 9 months ago # -
Hi fplolz,
Thanks for your help.
It's quite difficult for me the method you explained: I'm a newbie!
Anyway I will try as soon as I have some spare time and re-install.
By the way, to bypass the porblem, is there a default username and password if I skip the Configure System/Configuration menu?
Thanks again. Bye bye.Posted 9 months ago #
