Hi, all.
I'm doing pacman -Syu and am getting the message:
Local package <package> is newer than core.
I've looked at:
man pacman
and have cleared caches wherever possible. I still can't get the Core repo to be the newest version.
Can anyone help?

i hope my suggestion doesnt sound stupid...but
the Kahel Dev team have added packages of their own..( i presume..)
Now , on the assumption that you do not have 2 or more repositories containing the same package ,
just re-install those stuff that are supposedly newer..
either that or upgrade your pacman database using the main arch linux server ( most up to date server ) ...though i still get that local packages newer message...lol
but it doesnt really affect the normal usage ..so its ok ..:)

This sounds like a clean way to do it. Is there an easy way to make sure my pacman mirrors select the correct servers, or is it a question of searching for an example configuration file? Just wondered whether Arch has an equivelant to Gentoo's 'mirrorselect'.

This may help find the mirrors and write them to file, but I think I'd have to manually add the Larch repo.

actually .. i am too lazy to go though the process of selecting the server /repo of my choice
instead , i use Shaman's gui tool to do so ;)
however in shamans case, addtional repos apart from the standard and official and kdemod repos ...you have to add it yourself manually
hm..ya interested in the Larch repos too ;) ..hehehe ..do i sense a respin coming up?

No respin here (you've already done a good job), just mentioned larch as i thought that would be a requirement with the current 1.1 set-up. I didn't realise Shaman has a repo tool.
