he could try setting eth0 or any other interface he is using to use dhcp
to do that go to /etc/rc.conf
and set the setting
if he can also give us some information about his ADSL (is it with dynamic IP, router modem, DHCP???). I think it will be better and faster for us to assist him.
I'm also thinking that "NetworkManager Applet" might help him solve his problem easily.
He just needed to explore it.
right-click network manager->edit connections...
anyway,let us just wait for his next post.
