I had set grub to show the screen for 0 seconds and then continue. Of course the first time it went to a green screen with lines down the screen. It then told me later on that my drive was set to read only and to fix this to hit ctrl d which I did and it rebooted to only go to a pink screen. I have an nvidia card.
