actually the problem is i want to format the root directory with the nilfs2 system and the /home with vfat as to make it accessible with other operating systems. i tried a /boot partition formated with ext2 and a swap so the end result was:

| ext2 (/boot) | swap | nilfs2 (/) | vfat (/home) |

problem i faced was the nilfs partition didnt have a uuid (at least one that i could find/discover) also i think the problem with grub is it cant read nilfs systems yet. i always get thrown into a kernel panic.

all:

sorry for a little bit of hiatus :-) heard about a lot of exciting developments in the community (and some not so nice). i wish thank fplolz and joelbryan for their parallel developments on kahelos, and to chris_debian for answering and helping out those with issues. kudos to you three.

also my apologies.. will cross post this across threads.

wizix:

will be experimenting too with le maybe this next week. i can't promise anything but i will post here any findings i can find.

Hello, I am new to this forum. i just downloaded the kahel OS light edition. my aim is to install it on my 8gb flash memory usb stick. did some googling and i searched the forum and wiki but i couldnt find a guide to help me accomplish this. can someone please point me in the right direction. i need to install kahel os on a usb stick with persistant settings (or localy on the usb drive) + hardware detection every boot because i will be using the memory stick as my working place on many different computer systems.
