@JR

Yes, you can install it on your laptop. Just a reminder, this would not install when you are logged in your current OS. You should either boot with the CD or a USB with the instructions given by roz, and either reformat your HD or create another partition for Kahel.

Hope I helped
:D

That is the default behaviour of unetbootin. While there's a lot of other options to choose, the only option that you can use and is working is the 'Default' to boot up the Kahel installation.

Hope this works. Let us know.

Hi cool8, thanks for reply,

Well i guess to start with, after doing unetbootin, when booting from usb, the menu is not the same menu as in the cd, there's more options and its grey. I saw a similar post for godane archiso-live and it has to do with unetbootin messing up some files (syslinux.cfg, isolinux.cfg and vesamenu.c32). Maybe from where the error messages comes after.

Also, will it be possible to have more info on kahel, like a list of packages it includes...

Thanks a lot

Hi Busamige:

Kahel Team would like to help you. Where did you encounter difficulty? What is the error message?

Kahel is orange in Filipino ergo the name and some other qualities that come with it.

The distro in really new and yes it is in the continuous process of improvement.

For whatever you may need, just drop a post.

Thanks again

ok thanks, nevermind doesnt work. It either doesnt boot or after the menu setup (which doesnt look the same at all as if I burn a cd) it says an error message that cannot find booting media.

Burnt a cd at the end and realised it's not a Live CD to try/see it before you install it, so not so appealing IMHO. Just a comment, dont take it as an offense, but what's up with all the bright orange, bit too much to my taste. Hope it's possible to switch colors in future.

looks interesting concept

Here's the instructions to use your USB for booting up an ISO image.

1. Download Unetbootin from http://unetbootin.sourceforge.net/
2. Get the appropriate Unetbootin version for your Operating System.
3. If your using Ubuntu, run 'sudo apt-get install unetbootin'.
4. If your using Kahel OS, run 'sudo yaourt --noconfirm -S unetbootin'.
5. Run unetbootin then browse your ISO file and choose a target USB drive you wish to install it.
