She has been using KaheOS for months. We upgraded her KahelOS because she can't connect through wifi. Any help is highly appreciated. However, in the middle of the upgrade, the gnome desktop froze and became non responsive. so I killed the X server and hit Alt+Ctrl+F1 to do the upgrade in the virtual console. But when I typed the upgrade command, it said the local database is up to date nad exited.
